Mallory Johnson, BA — Clinical Fellow

  • Meet Mallory.

Mallory Johnson (she/her) is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at New York University. Previously, she worked in sales & marketing in the media industry, where she cultivated her ability to build meaningful connections and inspire action. Her experience overseeing team members informed her capacity to foster growth, develop skills, and work through issues from a foundation of empathy. A 200-hour registered yoga teacher, Mallory is passionate about holistic health and wellbeing. Mallory’s interest in psychology and human connection, as well as her desire to support individuals through the process of growth, healing, and self-discovery, informed her decision to shift her focus toward counseling.

Mallory’s approach is grounded in compassion and curiosity. She works from an integrative framework, drawing primarily on psychodynamic, cognitive/behavioral, and mindfulness-based modalities. She builds on clients’ strengths, inner resources, and resilience in helping clients navigate challenges, relationships, and life transitions. Mallory believes therapy provides an opportunity to heal from past wounds, develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-trust, and work toward goals in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Mallory’s therapeutic style is warm, nonjudgmental, calm, and focused. She believes in the importance of building a genuine and trusting relationship for therapy to be effective. She honors diversity and aims to create a safe and authentic space for all. Mallory is dedicated to helping individuals achieve healthier, more fulfilling lives through building deeper connections with others, and most importantly, with themselves.
